Park and Recreation Aide 1-7 (Multiple Positions)

Under the supervision of higher-level personnel, the selected candidate will be engaged in the performance of the following semi-skilled tasks and/or activities at a facility primarily involved in the operation and maintenance of day-use areas, picnic areas, play equipment, recreational fields, bathhouses, campground and cottages, etc. 1. Performs general area maintenance including but not limited to litter control, refuse removal, grounds upkeep, landscaping, snow and ice control, restroom facility cleanliness and other tasks and/or activities as described. 2. Possess driver license; operates light trucks, passenger vehicles, and tractors as required. 3. Assists skilled or semi-skilled trades by performing a variety of relatively un-skilled tasks. 4. Answers patron inquiries concerning park activities. 5. Performs simple maintenance on various equipment used; these duties may include oil changes, cutting blade changes, tightening or changing belts, fueling or mixing fuel according to machinery specifications etc. 6. May operate industrial wheeled tractors and low center-of-gravity tractors which may be equipped with, but not limited to the following interchangeable attachments; a. 80 rotary or 7-gang-pull mowers b. augers c. york rake, surf rake, etc. d. hammerknife 7. Loads, moves, carries or unloads material of varying weights and sizes as required in the performance of the duties described. 8. Submits recommendations to supervisor for tools and/or materials needed in the performance of duties. 9. Conducts inspections of assigned area for safety hazards, correct problems where possible and makes requests for appropriate skilled trades assistance when needed. 10. Performs revenue-related activities such as cashiering.

Salary Range:
From $13 to $17.63 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
